About Lulu Laberlue

Hello, I am Lulu, aka Estelle !

I am a book binder and mixed media artist located in Grasse, south of France.

I am in love with old papers, used tea bags and vintage materials that I carefully collect, dye and transform to create unique Art Journals and Paintings.

Papers

I love giving vintage papers a second life ! I have collected vintage papers over the years, including from my travels. The papers range from the 1800’s to modern day and include ledger papers, old books, old invoices, hand written letters, school exercise books… anything that pleases my eyes !

Colors

I love playing with colors ! I create my own color washes and use them to dye the vintage materials I use. I particularly love the teal /turquoise shades which match beautifully with the brownish hues of vintage paper or used tea bags.

Sweet memories

I love when things are not off of shop shelves, but instead full of meaning and memories. I extensively re-use old photos and objects from the past that have been cherished by others. I also play with old handwriting using my own manual re-printing techniques.
